Heya guys, I am really glad to see that you all have stuck around and logged in everyday- I am very excited to begin roleplaying with you. The site is getting close to being finished- I just have to figure out the chatbox, a couple of bugs, and a legend to show what each group's color is for. I have yet to figure that out, as my coding skills are very basic.
I just wanted to ask if you guys would like to begin roleplaying before the site officially opens? I have some main plot points that I would like to cover which doesn't necessarily require the site to be open to follow through with.
I will be creating an Inuit character rather soon. The plot would be to officially move in the Inuit tribe, have the pack do some bonding, and then have the initial conflict. A moment where the wolves realize that their only problem isn't just their small pack size. A moment where the Inuit realize that the bountiful territory that they settled in contains more than just deer and rabbit- it contains a beast which are a subject of many of their beliefs.
I want to begin processing through the two species relationship, but I would also like to begin developing the ancient stories that the Inuit have over wolves. They both fear and respect the mysterious canines, and these feelings are deep seated. To be ingrained in their beings, however, we need to have stories and rituals that they tell to their young so that the fear becomes solid. Both the humans and the wolves have recently faced some sort of hardship- disease for the wolves and famine for the humans. Their numbers are small, they are both weak, and they are in need of strong group bonds to survive. I feel as if we can begin developing all of these things so that they are established and already rolling once we officially open.
A lot to do! I still have to extend the descriptions for all of the territories as well as add pictures for every thread. What do you all think about this? What else do you think that needs to be done before we officially open?
I will need at least two other Inuit characters besides my own before we can begin roleplaying the plot, because we need to be realistic with travelling (it would be hard to survive if there was only one member in the group). Oh! By the way, though the Inuits do not own horses, they do own dogs! Dogs are essential to be nomadic, since they help to carry equipment. They can also help with hunting and staying warm. Not only that, but they are a good alert system for the Inuit to any wolves that are near the camp. I was thinking about letting people create a dog character- one that they would roleplay in their Inuit posts.
For example: Fido barked at me (an Inuit), and I scowled at him. 'Fido, what's wrong?!" Fido began jumping in circles and then ran away."
So members wouldn't role play as the dog, but they could role play their Inuit's owning a dog. I was thinking that a dog could be a good reward for people with Inuit characters. "The leaders of the tribe will grant its members a dog if they have proven themselves and once they come of age." Or something like that. Feel free to post below to help me develop the idea.
